I decided to come to “Go Run” because I am ready, I am ready to stop complaining and stop worrying and start taking action. I am ready to step up to the plate and start the ball game! I am ready to learn more about the possibilities and opporturnies that I can help create for myself, for my community, state and world. I wont pretend that I know what to do and how much it will take to get to where I want to go, but I figured out that in order for me to do anything, I needed to start surrounding myself with others who knew the answers I did not know and who could and would be willing to help me to get there! I came to equal the playing field and help build the pipeline for our future!

I decided to attend Go Run because it was a great opportunity to meet amazing women who want to make a difference and seem to “just get it”. I don’t have to justify why I want to run and my reasoning behind it. They seem to just understand and I knew that is what Go Run would be about. A complete understanding. Go Run has been an amazing experience and it’s only just beginning. It brings such an empowering feeling and also a humbling feeling knowing that I can make a difference.

Go Run is top-notch leadership training for women who want to run for office. Go Run training provides an opportunity to network with amazing women in the world. It is a safe place to be express your ideas and values without fear of being ostracizied- the oppopsite actually happens- women encourage, empower, and engage with you. The training is nonpartisian and that is important to me. They encourage your agenda and not theirs.

I came to go run because I was asked to come. I’ve been asked to run on a couple of occasions by members of my community, but I just wasn’t personally ready. This was an opportunity to become more prepared with info specific to running a campaign.

I did not know anything about Go run until a colleague walked up to me and asked, “Are you into International Relations and politics? I said, “Yes.” She then asked me why I wasn’t networking. I was dumb-founded! That’s it, women often do not take initiative for their own lives. I came to Go Run to empower myself.

I am currently at the Go Run Training in Atlanta, GA and I must say, so far, I am in to day 2 of the training. Last night was an introduction to the other women who are also present at the training. Today began the sessions and I am pretty happy with my decision to attend the training. I was awarded a scholarship which I applied for at hte suggestion of one of the organizers. I am passionate about making a difference in the lives of women and girls and more importantly spurring social change overrall. I believe that after attending 2 classes thus far, I will actually run for position in office, more than likely it will be on the local level here in Atlanta. I am so happy that I am here and I hope you will consider participating in the next training that the White House Project hosts.

After receiving an email from the Atlanta Urban League of Young Professionals which directed me to the Go Run website, I knew that I had to attend this informative session. As an Africana Women’s Studies graduate student at Clark Atlanta University, I study and research the vital role women play in this society.

I want to continue to become in this society and to use my influence to impact change. I have enjoyed the two sessions thus far and I can’t wait until I learn more.

The BEST!

I simply came to learn about the nuts and bolts of the campaign process, and to network with influential women who are movers and shakers of their communities. I attended workshops that were filled with detailed, practical information on campaigning – information that can also be used in everyday life. I’m very impressed with the instructors and the leaders of this organization. Thank you for the opportunity to come to such a worthwhile event as Go Run. The experience is unforgettable!

When I saw the email about the Go Run Training in the Atlanta area, I was intrigued! I knew I had to try to attend and participate and learn what how I need to prepare for a future in politics and to meet other women with political aspirations. I received a scholarship and from the very beginning after listening to an introduction from Robin and Marie, I knew I was in the right place at the right time!

I got an email from Patricia Harris whom I admire a lot. She has beenhelping lot of people to grow.

Since the venue was only 10 minutes from my house, I decided to participate. I have experienced a lot and I felt I need to communicate more. It was the right decision. I liked the message that said that “More than your message”. The training helped to learn how to speak in front of camera, how to talk and mostly meet some amazing group of people who really want to do a lot for the community.

I am an active member of moveon and I think we can improve in few of the areas of fundraising and reachout more people. This is the only suggestion that I have.

We need more women in politics, and we also need a broader’ range of women that will represent all income levels and life circumstances. This is the only way that women will be able to lift all boats, something that has not happened under men’s watch.
